Its large front facing Brook Green, a peaceful rectangle of tennis courts and relaxation tucked behind the chaos that is Hammersmith, this rather grand, high-ceilinged Young’s pub is comfort itself. House plants, a fireplace and inviting sofas all contrive to create a faintly homely feel, although you’d love this much light and space in your own flat.

You can see halfway across the green from the picture windows, so pick a prime spot from which to sip your pint of Grolsch Blond, Bath Green Ale or Young’s own London Gold.

Entertainment comes in several guises: comedy nights, a book club, even salsa evenings. Neither the food nor the wine are anything to get excited about.

This gastropub is worth a visit.

The space is lovely- bright and open, seats are comfy and the decor is beautifully done.

There's the bar section, a separate dining section and a little outdoor seating.

I'd love to stay in one of their hotel rooms, they look gorgeous.

There's a wide range of drinks including craft beer and cocktails, and the food is good. The roasts in particular are very enjoyable and it's a good place to book for a group.

I had a platter once as a main meal- for £11 I thought it would be a decent size but it was actually very small. If it had been £7 I would've thought that was fair but £11 was a rip off for what you got. Another local pub of mine has a sharing platter literally double the size and the same price (and it's all good quality, fresh ingredients), so I would suggest avoiding the platters here.

I like coming here when it's quieter- usually on a weekday evening or Saturday afternoon when you can relax, enjoy a drink, read a paper, play a board game.

Sundays get very busy so you need to book if you want to eat.

One Friday night they were playing really loud, awful dance music an hour before closing- there was hardly anyone in the pub so I can only imagine it was to make people leave earlier or put people off coming in! I don't know how it didn't disturb their guests in the hotel upstairs.

But if you're in Brook Green I'd still recommend popping in here, it's a great pub over all.

The bastion of Brook Green revellery, this superb West London pub and hotel is a local favourite - with a recent refurbishment, nice homely decor and always enough seats and tables available, this is a fine inn directly overlooking the green itself. Downstairs also plays host to Smiths Cocktail Bar. Escape the hubris of Hammersmith and walk 5 mins up the road to explore Brook Green and have a cold pint here.

Have gone here a couple times, and found the food to be quite good, with very generous portions. Nice choice of both wines and beers, and the place certainly has character in the best sense of the word.

Terrible food, skimpy portions. My friend and I left hungry. Arrogant staff!! I would go elsewhere to eat and for the ambiance!
