Century Club

Time Out says

This private members’ club has been hiding in plain sight behind an ambiguous door on Shaftsbury Avenue since 2001. Cross the threshold and you’ll find a haven from the city’s hustle and bustle (if you’re a member, of course).

Century Club's piece de resistance is its roof terrace, which offers all-weather access and views across the London skyline. There’s an array of other spaces to enjoy, too, including a New York-inspired brasserie called the Tap Room, a cocktail lounge and rooms for private hire.

Superb venue. You can't beat a rooftop as central as Shaftesbury Avenue to bring your friends together from around London, or globally.

I came here last night and I left unimpressed I'm afraid. The cocktails we had were all way too sweet and lacking that finesse I appreciate with my drinks. The waiter was incredibly clumsy and spilt many drinks and one of them which happened to be on my sister!

..... As you can imagine that ruined the evening as he didn't even have the courtesy to apologise after. The bar manager did however, but the damage had been done and we didn't want to remain there any longer... Would I go back? No ... Never again. The decor was too dark and gloomy for my tastes.

I applaud the great variety of events that happen here, and the rooftop setting is a delight and worth enjoying. I would warn about the automatic service charge put on your drinks bill though, I went to bar and didn't take advantage of the table waiting service so was annoyed to hear I had the option of having it removed.

Private event with inner circle for singles. Lovely setting with a live band and an outside rooftop sitting overlooking soho. A little expensive but a nice atmosphere although not sure what it would like without this event. Top floor is definitely the best area and would be good to host any party/event.

I've been a member of this gorgeous hidden club for over 15 years; it is elegant, unpretentious, fun, pretty and with great food. The now open-to-the-public club has a charming roof terrace and late on Fridays and Saturdays, the top floor and roof terrace turn into a proper disco club dance space.  The restaurant has changed hands a few times and I have been told it is good again,.  The bar snacks are fantastic (but pricey) there is a fantastic range of beers and wines but again, they're pricey.  Great for a hot date if you want a bit of glamour, the odd celebrity and some relaxed sophistication in a civilised oasis smack bang in the centre of London Touristville.  Obviously you can also get trashed to hell and dance half-naked and they won't tell the papers OR your mum,or mention it to you at all the next time you're there.  Briliant

I'm not a member of this member's club but came here for a LFW special event. This hidden world is discreetly tucked away on Shaftesbury Avenue and literally cannot be noticed unless looking. The event was on the 2nd floor which included the room space, a bar and toilets. It was quite spacious and had lovely views both onto the Avenue and behind into Soho. All different types of stations were included, a hair styling area from Sassoon; manicure table; a make up area; products displayed with staffing; prosecco machine (I know!); food area; clothing display; massage areas AND a DJ! Although each section wasn't huge, there was definitely enough space and still room to stand and network.

Really nice space and really nice event.
