Time Out says
A handsome pub in Shoreditch, run by the folk behind The Water Poet round the corner. They have a great big beer garden here too.
There are loads (and we mean LOADS) of craft beers- cask to glass London ales, big brassy tanks of lager & crafty bottles, not to mention bloody good wines and harder tipples.
The garden’s pretty special: huge and dazzlingly lovely.
Anyway, outside in the garden there’s a food truck for all your noshing needs - with this much good booze about, soakage is a must.
Come and see the pole where pole-dancing may have been invented (who’s to say? Probably someone.)
Although, if you were headed to the Crown and Shuttle looking for strippers, you’d be disappointed. Just like your mother.
We welcome everyone all the time! See you soon for a pint.

I think this place is a fantastic wee find - the terrace out back is great and much bigger than you'd expect, it has a cute little food van out back too to save you coming back in. Good selection of drinks and a 'blast from the past' mini bar upstairs which is full of various things that'll take your memories back to childhood - and a mis-spent youth!
Big shout out to Meg and the team at The Crown and Shuttle , and all of the ladies from The East London Strippers Collective who shared their stories for Time Out Cardholders with honesty and humour.
I am a big fan of this pub , and am so pleased they celebrate their colourful history
Great pub with a massive sense of fun. Try the tiny upstairs bar "Filthy Fannys" - go out back to enjoy an al fresco bevvy and pop-up food truck - There's even a grotto and an urban upper deck. The beer's good - the vibe is great. Love the place !
great place to come for a sunny day or night time tipple, plenty of choice with a fantastic beer garden to drink the night away. the food go's down well and theres always cracking music playing.
Passed the crown a few times on my way to Liverpool St. Station, finally headed there after work friday. The burger was pretty tasty. The staff were friendly folk and beer garden is a lovely bonus!
Went there on a Saturday night. House red was ok burger - awful. Semi warm meat and a cold rubbish bun. Rip off for the price I paid. Would not recommend. Full of trendy wannabes - overcrowded and not up to much
Iv'e only seen pictures of this place but I wouldn't really want to go in there... If anyone cares about my opinion.
