A handsome pub in Shoreditch, run by the folk behind The Water Poet round the corner. They have a great big beer garden here too.

Crown & Shuttle says
Shoreditch’s erstwhile sordid, sleazy, shabby strip club rose from the ashes of its seedy past five years ago as the East London boozer you’ve been praying for.

There are loads (and we mean LOADS) of craft beers- cask to glass London ales, big brassy tanks of lager & crafty bottles, not to mention bloody good wines and harder tipples.

The garden’s pretty special: huge and dazzlingly lovely.

Anyway, outside in the garden there’s a food truck for all your noshing needs - with this much good booze about, soakage is a must.

Come and see the pole where pole-dancing may have been invented (who’s to say? Probably someone.)

Although, if you were headed to the Crown and Shuttle looking for strippers, you’d be disappointed. Just like your mother.

We welcome everyone all the time! See you soon for a pint.

The award for the busiest pub of them all….

Crown & Shuttle ladies and gents!

(Too) close to the City, this place is busy any day of the week. Always.

But… at least you know it will always be fun and it helps that it has outside garden if you want to get some air. Just hope you don’t lose your mind, trying to elbow your way to the bar.

I don't know how it's taken me so long to discover this gem of a pub. Not only is it expansive with a great outdoor seating area, the tunes, oh man the tunes! This pub dons the best tunes in London... Go!

Great pub in Shoreditch. The inside is nothing special, but its the back outdoor area which makes this place come alive. Its obviously best in summer, my favourite time being a casual Sunday afternoon when there's the possibility of snagging a table. Great drinks too, the gin cocktails are fab and great selection of beers.

The Crown and Shuttle is a great place to hit in the summer - it's got all the festival vibes.

A huge back garden, paired with a mezzanine level, fairy lights, food trucks and great music make this pub seriously enjoyable. The food is almost beach-style: loads of chips, sausages, burgers and what have you. They also have a great selection of beers, including bottled craft beer and the classics on tap. There's also a quite large indoors area with table football too.

The mood is the best thing about the C&S - it's not quite Shoreditch, so it's not deadly full of hipsters, but it's hip enough, believe you me! Highly recommended for after-work drinks, birthdays, anniversaries, nights out, pre drinks, all the drinks.

Big fan of this pub! They have an outside area with heaters and a rain cover, which is about as much as you need for me to be sold on a pub (but if that doesn't do it for you they also have the most delicious truffle chips ever!) Spent a birthday here as well and the service was very friendly. It gets busy as hell on weekend and sunny days but where doesn't in London?

A great pub, especially on a sunny evening to enjoy the large beer garden which is a hidden little sun trap. It does however get very busy and the staff aren't always particularly friendly. All in all a great weekday place to drink in the evenings and enjoy the large selection of food and drink.

This pub was a bit too packed for my liking. The outdoor courtyard packed to capacity - having a conversation or even trying to move was difficult to say the least.  However, the vibe is good and the staff were friendly. The venue is really nice, with a rustic feeling of raw bricks, repurposed window frames hung from the walls and old wooden floor boards.

I think this place is a fantastic wee find - the terrace out back is great and much bigger than you'd expect, it has a cute little food van out back too to save you coming back in. Good selection of drinks and a 'blast from the past' mini bar upstairs which is full of various things that'll take your memories back to childhood - and a mis-spent youth!

I came to this pub to go to an event called Striptease Tales up in the cocktail bar named Filthy Fanny's! We sat in a rather warm room and heard stories from strippers form the 80s through to the modern day. It was an enlightening evening with some funny stories as well as some poignant moments. I came away thinking "you go girls!"

I don't know if they were having a strange night but the bar staff downstairs were having a right bad time of it. They mucked up everyone's drinks orders in front of me and then just kept ignoring me at the bar. One of them even looked past me to someone approaching and asked for their order when I was clearly standing there waiting to be served! I'd say 4 stars for the night and 2 stars for the service at the pub so that evens out as a 3.

Big shout out to Meg and the team at The Crown and Shuttle , and all of the ladies from The East London Strippers Collective who shared their stories for Time Out Cardholders with honesty and humour.

I am a big fan of this pub , and am so pleased they celebrate their colourful history

Really like this place. The interior is nothing much to rave over, although the staff are friendly and they have an interesting selection of home brewed beers to match their extensive wine and cocktail list.

The real magic comes when you step outside into the awesome beer garden. Completely covered over and heated to protect against even the worst English weather, this is the place to be in Shoreditch for a cosy date night or a party depending on the night.

Tasty food too from the unique "burger van" sitting in the courtyard, although the portions are not very generous. A little pricey too for both food and drink, but overall a great place to impress.

The Crown and Shuttle is a place that I have a love/hate relationship with but mainly love. It's a fairly normal pub from the outside very near Liverpool St and Shoreditch High St stations. As a result it can be busy but luckily it's bigger than it looks. The pub goes on and on and there's a huge terrace out back with heaters and some of it is covered so it's ok even in the rain. It's a great vibe and usually good fun. When the terrace closes (around 10pm usually) it gets crazily busy (like if you did up your shoelace you would actually get trampled to death) so make sure you're out of the main stampede walk through by then.

Great pub with a massive sense of fun. Try the tiny upstairs bar "Filthy Fannys" - go out back to enjoy an al fresco bevvy and pop-up food truck - There's even a grotto and an urban upper deck.  The beer's good - the vibe is great. Love the place !

great place to come for a sunny day or night time tipple, plenty of choice with a fantastic beer garden to drink the night away. the food go's down well and theres always cracking music playing.

Passed the crown a few times on my way to Liverpool St. Station, finally headed there after work friday. The burger was pretty tasty. The staff were friendly folk and beer garden is a lovely bonus!

Went there on a Saturday night. House red was ok burger - awful. Semi warm meat and a cold rubbish bun. Rip off for the price I paid. Would not recommend. Full of trendy wannabes - overcrowded and not up to much

Nice looking pub, good beers, food a bit bland, bar staff appalling. Did not seem to have a clue.

Iv'e only seen pictures of this place but I wouldn't really want to go in there... If anyone cares about my opinion.
