I can't speak for the food at Gable because I've never eaten there but I have often gone at c10/11pm for a few drinks and a dance. All in all, it does the job. The music is quite good, there's a decent smoking area around the back and it always draws a big crowd. However, sometimes the crowd it draws isn't great - I'm talking people who look a bit rough (girls and guys!) and downstairs often feels like a creepy meat market. On that note, downstairs is just unbearable in the summer - one day I literally had to change into a spare set of clothing I luckily had (and I was only there from 6-8pm so the crowd hadn't really begun flocking in).
Meh, there are definitely better places to go, but it is what it is, and after a few cheeky drinks, you don't mind so much, I guess!

This city bar cum restaurant does serve some of the best fish and chips I have eaten. Its popularity with the city crowd is is testament to the quality of produce, great menu options and great ambiance. The only downside being that you have to book in advance if you want to dine and the noise levels and queues for the bar. The places does get busy and in summer the crowd spills out into the neighbouring streets. Typical city prices, happy hour specials and great food!

Enjoyed today my lunch today at The Gable. The place was absolutely packed which is always a good sign. The prices are more than reasonable and my Burger was excellent. Staff friendly and help full. Will be back for sure.
