My friend and I stumbled upon this pub after a comedy night nearby and the atmosphere was fantastic. I can't believe it was a Sunday evening as it was like a party night. There was a DJ with record decks, people in groups having a bob to the music and lots of people in groups or twosomes chattering away. It was a lovely place to hang out and I'll definitely be popping by as soon as I'm in the area again.

Not a bad pub although the photo above must be old as the chairs and décor look nothing like this now.

Went there Saturday afternoon and spent a lot of money until the co-owner took a dislike to us and decided that he only wanted locals there.

A friend of mine jokingly PRETENDED to turn on the jukebox. The owner approached him and without stating who he was aggressively asked him what he thought he was doing. Only after the second time of asking why he wanted to know did he advise that he was the owner. Very unprofessional and no way to appreciate the custom that we had provide when the pub was completely empty in the earlier afternoon.

Needless to say I would never darken the door of this pub again that I can only say in the current climate of pub closures will not be here this time next year if the same bad attitude remains.

Having to put a minimum of 1 star but would prefer to put nothing.

I recently moved from Camden to King's X, I tried all the pubs in the area and I was still missing my favourite ie The Camden Head, Hawley Arms, The Constitution and the defunct Crown and Goose in Camden until I came across this gem.

Great friendly pub, so much loved by the locals that they recently bought out the lease to prevent its closure.

Well worth a visit if your in the neighbourhood and enjoy a proper local boozer.

No food, but menus offer a selection from nearby restaurants, which can be delivered to your table. Nice touch.

Love this pub. Perfect place to head to after seeing a show at The Invisible Dot down the road. Haven't a bad word to say about any of the staff. Jukebox is great if you want some good singalong tunes.
Sometimes it can be absolutely rammed, sometimes almost empty...there doesn't seem to be much of a rule in that regard, Tuesday night or Saturday night you never know.
Been several times in 2014 and the loos have been fine so not sure where that comment is coming from. Tiny, but clean.
If you want to be served quickly and require a pristine cistern look elsewhere, but if you're sick of the gourmet burger and soulless drinking spaces this may be the place for you.

Great pub but for the love of God please clean the toilets. The place is really starting to smell quite gross.

Nothing wrong with the pub per se, but I haven't a good word to say about the management. A friend I was with on a weeknight out was refused service 'for being patronising' to the landlord, though he claimed he'd literally asked for the round of drinks, having to repeat what he said because the landlord didn't initially understand his accent. This was 2 drinks into the evening (circa 8pm), nobody was drunk or badly behaved. The landlord would not explain what it was that had offended him; he said he didn't have to and he refused to serve anyone in our group (of 4). I wouldn't set foot in this pub again if it was the last hostelry on earth. This landlord is abusing his power. I have no idea why he wouldn't serve my friend, he simply wouldn't justify his decision.

King Charles the 1st is one surprising Pub! With a good selection of Ale, that they change all the time for the happinness of the customers of trying new Ales. Nice and cosy, tucked away in a little road, not far from the station (5 minutes walk), the decoration is very ethlectic and surprising, the bar staff warm and friendly, and the people in there are very electric and always up for a good laugh ... made a few friends myself! Highly recommended for anyone thats looking for a nice time without any troubles!!
