This tiny Kentish Town basement bar (seating for 30-odd) features low lighting, a delightfully mashed-up decor, great music, and a resident jack russell named Otto. Take your seat, take your paper bag of popcorn, tuck in while you peruse the short, inventive drinks list.
There’s a lot of hard work involved in making these drinks, own-made infusions and the like, but the effect is always one of classic simplicity. The house drinks all come with a bespoke food accompaniment, a classy touch, and their prices reflect that. Other cocktails are cheaper than they should be, given the quality.
Because the place is so tiny, and offers table service only (including low tables in cosy vaults), you’d do well to book via email if you’re planning a visit. Knowhere Special is very special indeed.

They're back and they're better than ever!
And yes a part of me doesn't want to tell you in case I can't get a table anymore ;-)
The specials list has had so much thought and effort put into it that it's almost rude not to try something from it.
These are cocktails how I like them - boozy but completely balanced with a flair of originality and it's how I imagine cocktails were in the 1920s-40s.
If you're not normally adventurous with your drink choices trust them - let them know what you usually like to drink and they'll steer you in the right direction (without any of the holier-than-thou attitude you get in some bars!) and you might just find a new love.
There's also plenty of classics available - sometimes nothing but a great martini will do after all - so go and meet (or get reacquainted with) the team and their lovely concoctions.
Place still has a cosy, relaxed fabulousness about it too.
This bar has closed down. The landlord has now opened a new bar in its place. Timeout needs to re-review.
Lovely bar and the best cocktails I've ever had. I'm so devastated that they've been forced to close due to rent quadrupling overnight :( :( :( I hope they come back soon!
A real nice coset cocktail bar with original concept throughout. A great couple who own the business who have come up with amazing experiential recipes for cocktails. Almost a living room vibe in there.
Run by a lovely couple and their fantastic dog Otto, this unique and uniquely relaxing neighbourhood cocktail bar is a must. Precision made cocktails, each accompanied by a small amuse bouche are like nothing else in London. Great music and wonderful details throughout, especially in the three cubby hole rooms.
Awesome inventive cocktail menu and really friendly staff make this hidden basement bar a real gem to North-West London.
Super-kitch, super cosy and very chill. All the more special if you catch Otto on a "shift".
Love this bar, the staff are ridiculously friendly and I love that the food comes with perfectly matched little nibbles at no extra cost.
Plus Otto the dog is very cute!
The bar is brilliant, so chilled out and the drinks are on point. Great vibe, great staff, great venue (literally across the road from kentish town station) , ace drinks. Pretty much perfect, but do call to book as I don't think this will be easy to walk into for long.
