We were drawn in to the Ladybird Bar by their happy hour deal, which runs till 7 on Fridays! £12 for two cocktails, which don't have to be the same meant we tried four different ones between us. A little hit and miss, our favourite was the Harry Nilsson cocktail, which was a fantastic take on a Pina Colada, with great flavour! Overall, a nice place to kick off a night on Upper Street and take advantage of the new sofas with a view of the bar.

I have spent some time here as the owner is French and is a kind person. It is also one of the only place that remains open at night in Angel. It is quite a small place so when it gets really busy you don't have much space to dance, but it remains a convenient place to go out late at night.

Nice little bar in Angel, came for a 30th birthday party, we were given a space at the back.

Shame they didnt have the nicer cocktails on offer. Lemon popsicle is nice if you like bitter concoctions, however, the diaquiris are awful! Tiny place, good music, the dj was really good. Had a good time.

Don't know why they charge after 11pm to get in, its a tiny place, so you'd think they would prevent overcrowding.

However, not a place I'd come back to! Plenty of better bars around the Angel area.

The Ladybird Bar is situated on Upper Street, opposite Islington Green. It has a main bar area and a basement club for the weekends, when it stays open until 4am (one of the few bars/clubs in Angel that is open past 2am).

Great range of inventive cocktails on offer (and definitely take advantage of the happy hour!). We had the “At the Cinema” – Rum, lime, toffee popcorn syrup & apple delivered in a huge popcorn box with toffee popcorn on top (who doesn’t like a snack with their drink!?) and the “Tipsy Topper” – Gin, Aperol & Orange which was delicious.

Perfect for a date night in the cosy tables, catch up with friends or some dancing! Good service, good atmosphere and some great tunes.

Great happy hours -  Monday all night and Tuesday – Sunday 5pm – 9pm – 2 for £12 cocktails, £20 bottle of prosecco and £3.50 bottle of beer.

I'd avoid this place as the bouncers are rude. One of them hit my friend for no reason. After the incident, the owner was protecting the bouncer instead of saying sorry!

The happy hour is really good value for money - two cocktails for £10.  However, they are very sweet so not sure you could have more than a few.  The food was a bit hit and miss - some really nice pizza and others looked like they had been bought from a local supermarket, heated up and then sold for triple the price.  However, the failings re the food were acknowledged by the bar staff to their credit.

I love the bizarre French and Italian influences in the decor of this place. Its quirky and unique. The domed ceiling above the bar with an extraordinary depiction of some kind of davinci inspired painting is fascinating and beautiful. The walls are dark but not gloomy. There is a variety of interesting and contrasting wallpapers - one has velveteen skulls, another is just elegant patterns. There is a vintage looking mannequin bust next to the bar and on the other side by some of the tables, a beautiful, elegant asymmetrical mirror which reflects every angle of the room. Your eyes could spend hours exploring, if the cocktails weren't such a huge distraction. The same goes for the barmen. The manager is a "delicious" man (his adjective for everything we discuss) who is keen to have you test his knowledge of flavours - I say I want something sweet but powerful, and he serves me up a "Bubblegum" drink, topped with a foam similar to italian meringue! It's sticky and delicious. The other barman accepts my challenge of making me something extraordinary with tequila, and he returns with a champagne flute filled with something strongly tasting of palma violets. After a few shots of tequila with orange slices (revolutionary in the slammer world, i'm telling you) and a few more cocktails of various spirit varieties (the whisky sour is spot on), i'm about ready to fall off my stall... but at least if I had the view of the ceiling from the floor would have been beautiful!

Best cocktail bar in London!

I finally managed to visit this little venue! Hard to find, but worth the wait. The atmosphere is elegant and the cocktails in this place are something else, I had a cocktail named blowing bubbles, and then my friends and I had sharers, they use big lego buckets, fish bowls and popcorn holders you can share between 3,4 friends. The service is good and the bartenders real professionals...if you are a cocktail lover, try this place!

Great place for Birthdays!!

We booked an area towards the back of the bar beside the DJ booth and it was fab! The bar can get extremely busy on a Saturday night so it was nice to have a place to congregate and party together as a group. The staff was very friendly and fast at their job. The cocktails were amazing and the music was very good!!

Drinks were amazing and great music.  The only thing that let the venue down was the table reservation policy.  You cant reserve a table for less than 4 people.  So we went along, lots of tables empty.  People constantly being asked to move in order to free up the table for a reservation and for the table to remain empty for the majority of the evening.  It would be much easier just to leave tables for first come first served at the weekend as it clearly doesn't work. The other strange thing was that the club room was closed on a Saturday night for a private party.  When you have paid £5 to get into a venue you'd at least expect to be able to access the club area for a dance.

Absolutely fantastic bar, booked this for my sisters hen night and couldn't of got any better service! Fantastic night, would thoroughly recommend it! Make sure you try one of the sharing cocktails!!

Ladybird always seem to have some great nights going on, I decided to check out one of their Friday nights and it was packed out, we all had such a good time the atmosphere was great!

Happy hour all night on Monday nights after work drinks couldn't get any better!

Just moved in to the area and had to try out some of the local bars on Upper Street. I have to say Ladybird was were the party was at! Had such a great night, they sell huge sharing cocktails which taste so delicious. I am so excited that I discovered Ladybird....My favourite local bar!

Awesome trendy bar. Funky interior and fun music and cocktails!! Always have a good night out there!!

I live in Angel and I regularly come to this bar with friends and we always have an amazing time! The cocktails are to die for and are THE best in Angel. The staff are lovely and always happy to see us again and again.

I visited this bar last week midweek. I wanted to go somewhere for a quiet drink with a friend. It was all really nice, but a bit later the music got a bit loud for my liking. It was still good, and I would definitely recommend it to workers in the area or people who enjoy good cocktails.

This is a cocktail bar situated in Angel in London. When I say cocktails, I mean HUGE cocktails. They do regular sizes too, but they do these insanely big ones in what is similar to a Margarita glass. Very impressive. They also have other props going on here. When we were there most recently, they had masks and fancy dress items. It's good to see something different instead of people just sitting down. Very quirky cool cocktail bar. Well recommended. Went here for work drinks yesterday. Great bar in Islington!! They did Happy Hour all night.. so much fun!

Went here for my birthday and literally had the best night. They give you an area where you can celebrate etc!! Super dalish cocktails and an awesome DJ! Thanks again guys!

Wooo such banter! Hilarious night in here. Really want to go back again soon. I have just moved to Angel - North London wins!! Go Ladybird!!

Had a great time here on New Year's where they had a special party on! Was awesome. It's defo my spot to go in Islington now for cocktails and a good time!!

I am leaving London, ladybird I will miss you, you kept me good company so many nights....never let me down for a drink or a good old school Dj sound.

Poor choice of venue for the evening, the place is ok but has begun to adopt an air of pretence well above its station. Treated like cattle trying to get in... plenty of better alternatives around upper street.

Ladybird was everything i was looking for - Great cocktails with an amazing endless choice, A big and varied selection of music as well as a DJ willing to play requests, A late bar; closing at 4am unlike all the other bars on Upper street that close for 2am, An amazing lively yet calm atmosphere and a great location to get home quick from too. I will definitely be going again and recommending to all my friends of all ages and backgrounds. A really great bar for anyone on any occasion! Whether its just you and the Mr. going out for a little dance and a few gorgeous cocktails or you and the girls going on a crazy boogie looking for a night to remember. Go to Ladybird! You wont regret it!
