You'll no doubt notice the landlord's name printed in bold on the canopy of this traditional Belgravia boozer – he's a chap who makes his presence felt inside, too. Mobiles are banned; the walls are cluttered with everything from cartoons to baseball reports, garden tools to vintage penny-slots.
The ale is from Adnams, alongside various well-known lagers and ciders also on tap. We especially enjoy the old Guinness logo on the bar. There's pub grub too, as well as live music on occasion and even the odd famous face.
Time Out tip
There's another pub classic just around the corner from the Nags Head. Try the Grenadier in Belgrave Square, which dates back to 1720, when it was built as an officers' mess. It's full of army-related bits and bobs.
