Not many places do gaming quite like these guys. It’s one of two Platform venues in London (the other one is in Shoreditch – and is great, too), and does the same ace job of basically giving you the chance to do some high-quality button-mashing alongside more ‘grown-up’ pursuits like drinking booze and eating pizza. It’s a lot of fun.
The roster of games is strong (and likely to change with new releases, so keep an eye on their site), with multi-player options particularly well-represented. That means games like Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Super Mario Party on the Nintendo Switch, and Tekken 7, FIFA 23, Rocket League and NBA 2K Playgrounds on the PlayStation 5.
The food and drink is good, with pizzas alongside nachos and Hackney gelato, plus cocktails and a broad selection of beers both on draught and by the can and bottle. Keep an eye out for the playful puns throughout – we particularly like the fact that the NES Classic pizza has ‘no extra stuff and may take eight bites to eat’. The kind of gaming-nerd joke we can totally get behind.
