Simmons Mornington Crescent

This Camden Town cocktail bar is from the Simmons chain - a group with outposts scattered across town. This one's just a short stroll from Mornington Crescent tube and right across from Koko, so expect it rife with music fans on gig nights.

Many head here for the carefully crafted libations, the generous happy hours and the SNES - with Mario Kart on rotation, naturally. Those cocktails range from brambles, caipirinhas and margaritas to a disco fizz (gin, lemon juice, sugar and soda) and a coco mojito (Ciroc coconut vodka, coconut rum, fresh lime, fresh mint, sugar syrup and pineapple juice). Sharing cocktails served in teapots do brisk business, too.

Outside of the mixes it's bottles of beer, prosecco and a fair few wines by the glass.

A cosy and really cool bar, a bit away from the crowded and busy Camden town station. The right place for a little time off in front of a really nice and cheap cocktail, or maybe two!! (cocktails are 2x£10)

Still one of my favourite places to hang out in Camden! The unusual, cute and quirky decor, the drinks - which are brilliant value - and the fun atmosphere all make it a great place to have some after work drinks. For anyone that hasn't been - one word of warning: the happy hour menu can be a little deceiving, the list of cocktails included on the 2-4-1 offer isn't massive but nether the less, the deal is still a good one!

We visited on Monday during the happy hour. The bar was mostly empty and the bartender behaved like he couldn't be bothered (like it was his day off and he was thinking 'who are they and how dare they bother me'). During the happy hour you get 2 cocktails for a tenner (you can choose from a short selection of basic cocktails), and the bartender actually made us feel like he's doing us favours by allowing us to pick up our second cocktails later rather than get them straight away and have them sit on the table and watch the ice melt. Not to mention the fact that the front room tables are so close together you will inevitably ask all the people sitting at the table next to you to stand up and let you out if you unluckily end up sandwiched between the table and the wall.

On the positive side, oh my God, oh my God, they have a huge disco ball scull. And generally speaking the decor is cute and quirky. The bar is also very conveniently located moments away from the Mornington Crescent tube and right across from Koko club, so perfect to knock down a drink or two pre- or post-gig.

One of the smaller Simmons that we know and love, but very handy for the walk home. As always, amazing decor, vintage lamps, retro toys and quirky pictures keep us entertained and amused, and amazingly cheap drink prices make this place an absolute winner.

All of the Simmons have a wonderful atmosphere, quirky decor and great value drinks, but the Camden one gets my vote this year as I spent New Year's Eve there and had an absolute ball!

Good find in Camden, very nice staff, good value drinks and great mix of music.

LOVE this place! Such a good find, amazing happy hour, great staff and a spot for such a good night with friends.

Despite having yet to play on one of the SEGA Megadrives here (note to self - must do next time......), I am a great fan of this cute little bar. I first went there for a birthday bash a couple of years ago and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, cute décor and cocktails served in random cups and have visited several times since.

Due to the layout of the bar there is enough room for groups to gather and couples and friends to catch up in cosy corners, or looking out onto the bustling Camden street. It also has a rather generous and long happy hour, which makes hanging out here extremely affordable.

Playing a great mix of music at a level which allows you to talk to your friends comfortably, providing games machines at the back and creating a warm atmosphere with great lighting, this really is a gem of a bar just a stones throw from Mornington Crescent Tube.

Fantastic venue with very friendly staff. The happy hour is great too, i havent found one cheaper!

Best Happy Hour ever, lovely staff, bring your own food allowed, everyone is welcome, open late in the week, what more would you ever want from a neighbourhood bar? Successful implementation of an original concept.
