We stumbled upon this gem of a pub after doing some shopping in Richmond. It's hidden down an alleyway which must be the reason it's not as busy as some of the other pubs in town. We were lucky to get one of the last tables and had a lovely early dinner on a Saturday evening, it was very cosy and the food was delicious. The staff were very friendly too and there's a hidden courtyard out the back with pretty fairy lights. It would be easy to spend a whole night in this place. We'll definitely be back.

Great pub, lovely busy atmosphere with good food and drinks. Delightfully cosy garden and terrace area at the rear. Proper pub and not a brewery led monster. Richmond's best by far.

Fab pub with hidden courtyard garden that never seems overly crowded. Good grub. Great team behind the bar.

great gastro pub, down an alley between the high street and green, Dom the gay manager is a diamond

I did not enjoy my experience in this pub whatsoever. I have tried this pub several times, but the pub is very dirty and has litter all over the floor. There are never any toilet roles in the toilet. Half of the food that is on the menu was unavailable because they didn't have the sufficient ingredients. Some of the ales were not available and a number of glasses were broken by bar staff. The bar staff were friendly enough, but the bar manager was very dismissive and impolite, and seemed like there were other things more important than the customer . All in all it was a bad experience eating and drinking at this pub. I WOULD NOT recommend this pub to anyone.

The Britannia is great fun and is a pub for talking and drinking. Set down a quaint alley of shops leading to Richmond Green it's a delight to just sit at the bar and jaw. The place is clearly a freehouse and is all the better for it. It does not have the McDonalds with Beer feel that so many chain pub have. I have had a couple of really good steaks but cannot talk of the food in detail. Really well worth visiting.
