I visited the restaurant and asked the manager to make a group booking. He then proceeded to ask me questions about the ethnicity of the group and advised that due to gas leaks, he would be unable to make a reservation. His questions were distasteful and inappropriate. I was also concerned that a restaurant would continue to operate knowing that the customers health and safety was at risk with a known gas leak. On the date I visited, the restaurant had a handful of customers, maybe a testament to the terrible service and the quality of the food. The visit was an overall disappointing experience, especially as the previous owners - Del Aziz had done such a wonderful job of making people feel welcome, ensuring service was impeccable, the food was wonderful and never putting the health and safety of customers at risk by operating with a gas leak.

I recently visited The Cinnamon in Clapham for a friends birthday meal. The décor and atmosphere were both great and it seems like a popular choice in the area for drinks as it has a large bar area. The menu offers both a Chinese and Indian cuisine because a husband and wife team run the restaurant and they are from each country respectively. We placed our food order and waited quite a while for the food to arrive but the staff and management were very apologetic and mentioned they were short staffed and still finding their feet as they haven't been open very long.

I always order a biryani when eating Indian and it usually arrives with a vegetable curry because it is a dry dish. The Biryani at The Cinnamon was just served with a salad but was quite moist and really tasty so didn't need a sauce.

I do go out in Clapham quite a lot and would probably pay a visit to The Cinnamon again in the future.
