Friendly warning! We're working hard to be accurate. But these are unusual times, so please check that venues remain open.

In décor alone the Zetter Townhouse hotel is exceptional: every surface has something old and lovely on it, like an eccentric collector’s country house. The result is one of the most beautiful and unusual bars in London.

The short cocktail list was devised by Tony Conigliaro (of 69 Colebrooke Row, Grain Store and Bar Termini), who is known for his experimental techniques and ingredients, but drinks here are fairly simple and restrained. And wonderful. The crowd is always a mix of hotel residents and outsiders, and the generous table spacing affords plenty of privacy. Bruno Loubet’s bar food is a decisive cut above the norm. Booking is always advisable, and essential for larger parties and at weekends.

The Zetter Townhouse Clerkenwell Cocktail Lounge says
Filled with oddities, taxidermy and curios, with an open-fire crackling in the grate, you’ll feel like you’re in the private home of an eccentric ancestor (known as Great Aunt Wilhelmina) in this 13-bedroom Georgian Townhouse.

With a cocktail menu in collaboration with industry heavyweights Matt Whiley (The Talented Mr Fox) and Rich Woods (The Cocktail Guy), the lounge's deliciously inventive drinks focus on ten ingredients known for their unique, therapeutic benefits (from St. John’s Wort to Catnip!).

Soak up the potent drinks with hearty bites - whether Club Sandwiches, English Cheeses or a Pistachio Eton Mess tickles your fancy - this relaxed sitting room is equally suited to a lazy afternoon as it is a night of rumbustious revelry.
