The Union Tavern is a real gem in Finsbury, 10 mins from King’s Cross, so quite central.  There is a big room upstairs which is very convenient if you need to prebook for a big company or a special event. The menu has a lot to offer, so it is hard to choose, service is always quick, efficient and courteous, relaxed friendly atmosphere, great beer selection  They have a set menu until 7pm.  Food is delicious and good sized, and prices are reasonable so after a decent meal you will have a sensible bill at the end as well.

The menu at The Union Tavern is very reasonably priced.

Because of its reasonable prices it is very popular so I would recommend booking for lunch and you can preorder if you're in a big group and time is of the essence.

For lunch you can either have two courses from the set menu for about £7 or choose from a wider menu of individually priced items that also include a starter of your choice.

I went for good old fish and chips and grilled mussels. I've not had grilled mussels before but I certainly will again. The fish and chips were good but wouldn't stand out in a crowd.

Overall this is a nice place for a good pub lunch and you can't go wrong with two courses and a drink for £10.
