You’ve heard of an Italian bar. You’ve heard of a British boozer. But chances are the concept of a British-Italian cocktail pub is new to you. Well, say hello to Without Papers. Kitsch goes some way to describing the decor. Think; a framed collage of Ziggy Stardust, a picture of Henry VIII in drag and a drawing of Shakespeare graffiti-ed with the words ‘Big Willy’. It’s a bold look. A selection of brews include Italian lagers and Guinness on tap, but cocktails are where the Itanglish joint really shines (the Pink Negroni and Fuhgeddaboudit being particular highlights). Plus, an eclectic back bar stacked with both big name brands and lesser-known liqueurs – an apt visual representation of its dual nationality.
Time Out tip: Without Papers switches up its spritz offering weekly, using quirky Italian spirits to keep things interesting year round.
