Bar Polski

Bars and pubs Holborn

This diminutive Polish hideaway stocks some 50 different vodkas, categorised according to descriptions such as ‘clean and clear’, ‘dry and interesting’ and ‘nice and sweet’.

It’s a flat-rate £2.90 for your shot, whether that’s rowanberry-flavoured Jarzebiak, the cherry Wisniowka, caraway seed-tinted Kminkowy or sweet aniseed Zacheta.

To chase the chaser, avoid the draught options and go for a Polish brew from the well-stocked fridge (Zubr, Zywiec, Tatra or Lech, perhaps). Hearty bigos stew, pierogi and herring are among the comestibles.

The merry throng is overlooked by a large, folk art-style mural of a cockerel.

Fantastic Polish food at cheap prices. Six VERY filling and delicious pierogis and a giant bowl of beetroot soup with cabbage dumplings for £10. #winning. I got a mixed veg option and my friend got the full assortment option (including meat) and we both agreed the cheese stuffed one was incredible. With the mushroom sauce as an option, we were quite pleased. My friend also got the kielbasa "snack" and it smelled delicious and she said tasted even better. There is a full stocked Polish vodka menu but we opted for a Polish raspberry spirit that was amazing and cheap! Two shots for £3.50 over rocks.

The place was dead this past Saturday night which was a relief. Last time my friends and I stopped by, it was jammed and the music was deafening, so we dispiritedly left. This time, my friend and I arrived here shortly after 6pm when the bar opened. But even when we left around 9:30, it was almost empty. I would totally come back here!! The staff was also really helpful, maybe because it wasn't busy?

I would say - maybe someone's had a bad day, but it happened more than once that a staff member was unfriendly towards clients. I do find it very sad as the food is really good (I am Polish myself) and the selections of spirits - impressive. I will come back as I hope it is going to change in the future. I know that they might very busy on Friday?Saturday nights but that's not a reason to be rude.

But again: very tasty food and reasonable prices!

Absolutely amazing staff, really friendly. Great drinks. Yes there are fancier places to look at but those who know it, love it.

Great bar with a huge selection of vodkas. If you don't like clean vodkas try their lemon or blackcurrant ones. Their potato pancakes and pierogi are amazing too. The only downside is that the place is small so at busy times you have to wait for a place to sit.

Bril atmosphere, friendly and very knolegdgable staff. Shots £3-00 £3-50 three min walk from. Holborn tube . Worth a visit.

Nothing soo special about the place, does not even have any specific climate ;) yup they got quite nice food and usual Polish drinks, but in the end, its just another London city pub, and it is not the cheapest one.
