Cider marks out the Green Man from the pack, but it’s also a decent boozer in its own right. A young, loquacious crowd comes to shout over an indie soundtrack and sample London’s best choice of ciders and perries: up to ten on draft, at least twice as many by the bottle, and they even have their own ‘Green Man Special’ cider.

Purists, however, may blanch at the bottled concoctions such as pear and strawberry ciders from Brothers. Beer is also a strength, with three ales supplemented by foreign obscurities.

Friendly young staff, regular events (including a monthly meeting of the London Air-Accordion Society) and a decent pub-grub menu are further attractions, as is the interior: high plastered ceilings, bare floorboards and a cosy back area with padded leather banquettes, plus a mellower, more modish bar upstairs.

Great atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff and a good selection of beers and food options make this a nice place to meet up with friends after work.  Love the upstairs Orchard room. A hidden gem in Fitzrovia.

It’s a largely unmemorable pub in Fitzrovia. Everything about it is a bit run-of-the-mill. It’s been refurbished enough to cover the grime (and arguably kill the pub charm), but not enough to turn it into a hip gastropub hangout. There are ciders and beers but nothing to get excited about. The pricing policy is very Central London but not extortionate. The crowd is youngish and predominantly foreign. It’s also spacious enough so you are likely to find some space even on busiest nights (that's the first star right here). As it mostly caters to the nearby media offices workers, Green Man is actually at it’s busiest on week nights. It wasn’t that packed even on St Patrick’s Day (and Friday), and you should have seen what’s been happening in Soho! I’ll keep this one in mind for when I want to get a quick pint but don’t want to queue (and that's the second star).

Its a pretty standard pub in Fitzrovia, with some regular customers from the surrounding businesses. Nothing offending about it.

It's a large venue, so you're bound to find a seat. However crowd is a bit of a mixed-bag, and staff aren't particularly friendly. When you add that to city-priced beers, you're better off going to another pub in the area.

Had my engagement party there at the function room a few weeks ago. Staff was not friendly at all and lots of incidents sorted of ruined the night: from staff smashing lots of glasses on the floor (twice!) while we had a child walking among guests, staff asking friends with child to leave at around 7pm (notwithstanding information by the manager at booking that kids were allowed at the  function room), to staff screaming at my guests for them to leave (instead of asking us to gently tell our guests the party was over). On top of that, the bill was appalling: they charged service fee for drinks collected at the counter on the tab! Only notice that when we got home and checked the bill again but couldn't find the energy to go back and complain. Frankly, would not recommend it to anyone. Stay away!

Lucky I checked out their website before visiting; no real ciders on offer just mass produced ersatz mediocre ciders at top prices! Touted as a cider house they ought to have some real craft ciders on offer
