Pig's Ears Beer Cellar
Pig's Ears Interior

Located in a basement beer cellar, the menu here is focused heavily on meat, with burgers, steaks and ribs all dominating the selection, but really Pig’s Ear is all about the beer. Ten beers and ciders are available on draught at any one time and there are around 100 beers available by the bottle.

It seems as though the Pigs Ear has gone under some recent changes - it is definitely a lot more hipster than it has been previously. However, it is an incredibly cosy and friendly environment and they have a brilliant selection of beers. What's even better is they still let in your four-legged friend - always a plus!

Do I miss the old vibe - probably. Will I get used to the new Pigs Ear - yes. It's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

I've been 'pubbing' here a few times during the day for a few drinks- their focus is beer and they boast a huge, impressive selection of it.

But recently I came here on a Friday night after seeing a show at the Richmond theatre and it was quite a different experience.

It is in a basement (they call it a cellar) and split over 2 levels. There was live music- a solo guy on his guitar who was great, it really added to the atmosphere.

We sat in the lower section to dine then moved upstairs to have drinks and listen to the music.

Even though it's quite a big space it gets very busy so be prepared to stand if you're not eating.

Mains can cost around £16 but I had a stone baked vege pizza which was £12.

A set menu option on a Friday night would've been good but it was all a la carte.

The service was very attentive too, so it's fast becoming one of my Richmond favourites.

Yummy food and an amazing selection of craft beers - which they will let you taste before you buy!

Not really a craft beer bar with only six different draught beers and three on cask. not a lot of atmosphere. Didn't try the food.

Stairs leading off the street makes it feel like you are going down into a beer cellar. It is really cosy and has a great atmosphere. Fantastic range of beers and the food is delicious! The mussels in particular were excellent! Will definitely be visiting again soon
