The beautiful view from this Richmond boozer are one of its real draws - you're a fair hike up Richmond Hill, so rural Petersham and a long stretch of the Thames provide the panorama. The only bad bit? The occasional passing plane puncturing the idyll.

It's mostly about the booze here with the food menu pretty much comprising British pub grub - think fish and chips, pie and mash, ham, egg and chips and burgers. An inexpensive Sunday roast is served up, too.

It's a Taylor Walker pub, so expect to see a few of their own drops on cask, alongside London Pride, guest ales and continental lagers on draught. A short wine list features worlds old and new.

My local pub and a firm favourite. Lovely ales, great food and the staff are always friendly and charming. Wish I got to while away more hours here!

I love it here for the chilled voice and amazing views

I find this a typical London pub, Very friendly staff, good selection of cask beers and a good selection of food. I am just about to go down for my usual fish, chips and peas with a pint (2) of London Pride. I stay at the Richmond Hill Hotel about eight times a year and take a small walk to the pub. In the summer time the view of the Thames from high up is fabulous.

Your rating from 2010 is not correct. Yes, the view is spectacular and you really can't beat a drink on the terrace to enjoy one of London's finest views, but the Roebuck inside is definitely a great experience too. We just had our wedding reception there, and the food and beer/wine selection was outstanding. The Roebuck is a friendly, well run pub and well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Well if it was the worse pub in the World, the ability to take a drink in a glass across the road to what could be the best view in London deserves far more than 2 stars. As it is we've always found the pub friendly, there's always a choice of proper draught beers and it's actually quite nice to be served relatively cheap uncomplicated food for a change rather than gastropub fare!
