Billing itself as 'the one and only true pub left in Camden', this warm (there's a fire in winter) and cheerful, dark-wood, shabbily chic place is frequently packed, due to its tirelessly enthusiastic support of largely unknown indie/alternative bands – which it puts on seven days a week – its regular club nights (eg Bloody Awful Poetry) and its late licence on Friday and Saturday (until 1am).

The Enterprise has recently reopened after a refurb and as I live north London a group of 5 of us opted for a nice Sunday roast.

I called ahead to book and checked the roast price and advised all roasts are £12.50 which for London is a great price.

3 of us opted for beef, 1 for pork and 1 for a non roast of a chicken & chorizo burger!

I really liked everything about my roast except the meat. The meat really let it down.

I had a few parts of good beef but most for gristle/fat. However my brothers pork was great he said.

The Yorkshire pudding was perfectly home made, great crispy roast potatoes and great veg of cauliflower, peas, parsnips and carrot plus red cabbage.

Free flowing gravy was available on request too which was delicious.

The staff were very polite about the beef and did give me a free dessert to make up for it. They appreciated the feedback.

The pub itself has a good selection of beers and wines, friendly service and really good food, I spotted some delightful looking fish & chips which I want to go back to try.

Loved the old style decor wall paper and rustic wooden furniture with the sunshine flowing through it really was a great Sunday setting.

This is a pub for your list if you like homemade food, good service and bars near Chalk Farm!

Great little pub near chalk farm station, perfect for pre-roundhouse gigs! They even serve good food, there's not much on the menu but what they do have is yummy and on the cheaper side for Camden. £7 for sausage and mash, and around the same for burger and chips!
