RUDE. RACIST. DISGRACEFUL PLACE. One star is one star too many. The doorman is racist and sexist. Completely irrational and obtuse. He has zero social skills and is self righteous. He refused to let us in as genuine new movers into the area because we were "not locals". Describing our genuine situation as being new to the area, he refused our claim and said that to prove that we were locals we would have to visit on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before expecting entry on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday. He then proceeded to let in numerous other groups after us. As two gentlemen arriving at 11.30pm on a Thursday, we were extremely confused by the situation and baffled by the doorman's illogical and irrational behaviour. Completely wrecked our evening. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
Sexist/racist securities in this place are the huge issue in Fulham. You should change them for you own good!.
I reviewed on facebook and the management lies about what I've done and doesn't take the blame which indicated that the management is the issue himself! Very unprofessional! This place is a disaster in Fulham and a disgrace for local community.
Will never be back
Trash ,on more than one occasion I've been refused entry on the grounds I've been drinking when I hadn't been drinking. They advertise drinks offers but then charge the normal price. Claim to be antipodean but won't allow shorts
The last time I was at The Slug @ Fulham was about a year ago, but my friends was over from Australia and wanted to try The Slug. On Saturday 5th December we queued for about 45 minutes before even got inside. The two bouncers on the front door was very polite and friendly, but the manger (Greg) is completely rude, racist and discriminate against everybody that he doesn't like the look off. Me and my friends notice this when we was in que and also the smoking area. Telling customers to F**k off and changing the entry requirements I.e. Over 21 then over 18. I do not understand and a pub could employ an manager like him. As we walk through the double doors the hole place stunk off BO and stale beer. 20 minutes que to the bar as the staff are so slow and the pub was so busy. We only had one drink as we could not stand staying in hear on the way out I tryed to speak to the manager Greg when he told me if we didn't like it don't come back and to f**k off. I am disgusted that he spoke to me and will be making a complaint to the company stonegate. If you are looking for a good night please avoid!!!!
Words can't describe how poor this place is. Went on 9/5/15 for my friends birthday. He had booked a private booth and had invited 20 guests. The dress code smart casual. 5 of us were refused entry at the door by staff for not meeting the dress code. All dressed for a uv themed event set by the owners of the slug. After a manager came out they then decided it was due to one of the group wearing a pair of brand new timberlands that we could not enter even with the birthday party group coming out to ask why when all were dressed very similar with 2 wearing boots, in the 15 minutes stood outside the staff then allowed another 20-30 people in with some wearing flip flops and sandals. Will not recommend this place to any friends or family and intend to post this review on any and every link I possibly can to spread the word that this place is not a place to go for a good night out
Although I gave the slug of Fulham a 1 star rating, I personally feel they do not even deserve this. On the evening of 8th February round about 19:40-20:00 my friends and I were waiting in line to get in. we got to the front of the line and we were refused entry, and when we asked why the bouncers/door men reason for us was they do not have to give us a reason? Why? I thought this behaviour was so unpleasant and rude.
Definitely a 'no go' as this place is supporting discrimination or at least the bouncers are.... There was four of us trying to get in, 2 women and 2 men, sober, decently dressed professionals. As soon as the bouncers realized that our ID cards were Polish, we were refused entry. Suddenly, the party inside became 'private' according to the bouncers. I said it was a weird coincidence because they didn't mention anything like that before checking our ID's. They only replied it was private now. It was about 10 pm, Friday night, not very busy inside. We watched other people getting in without any problems... I've never been treated like that in the whole decade of living and partying in London. IF YOU SUPPORT EQUALITY AND A REAL PARTY SPIRIT BOYCOTT 'THE SLUG' AT FULHAM. Shame on them. I only gave them 1 star in this review because zero wasn't allowed to post this review.
Worst pub out. Was denied Exit. Thats right. Not entry, Exit. Hugely rude bouncers wouldn't let me leave for over 5 mins, so when they let more people i simply walked out. The bouncer put both hands around my throat, strangling me and threw me on the pavement. Absolutely ridiculous. There are thousands of cool pubs in London. This is not one of them.
Terrible, just terrible. Was refused entry at the door by the bouncer who was extremely rude. Apperently the policy is 'locals only' , 'regulars only' or if you're with a girl. 1. How can I prove that I'm a local? 2. How do you get to become a regular if the place hasn't been open long enough for you to become one? I mentioned point number 2 above, and the bouncer's reply was 'regulars only.' This place has definitely gone down hill from what was here before. In conclusion, a no go.
I have tried to come to this pub a couple of times to watch AFL. This pub claims to be an Australian, New Zealand and South African pub, there are AFL logos displayed as well as all sorts of memorabilia on the walls. But the two times I have been to the Slug to watch AFL I have been refused. The staff are friendly but the South African manager will not allow his staff to change the station on the multiple plasma screens. So while the AFL, NRL and Rugby union games are on the staff were not allowed to change the channel from the British Open Golf. I have heard this used to be a great pub for watching sport but it seems like it must have gone down hill with the current management
