Gin. Gin. Gin. One of the remaining gin palaces left in the City, it worth it to stop for the history alone. You can see the booth where the woman would sell 'gin tokens' as they did not trust the staff handling the money.  They say its basement used to house overflow prisoners from Newgate Prison. Who knows. What I do know is they have a giant block of ice you CAN see them use when you ask for your G&T. That's good enough for me.

This Gin Pub is a gem.

Situated across from the Old Bailey, this circular-shaped pub with enormous ceilings is the perfect place to grab a cocktail after work.

With a crazy history (ask the bartenders nicely, and they will show you the old prison cells in the basement), the pub is dimly lit and offers seasonal cocktails and a great gin selection.

Highly recommend.
