A comedian is walking the entire tube network for charity

The past five and a half weeks have seen comedian Ben Van der Velde strutting through the streets of the capital in an attempt to cover the entire London Underground network. It's been a handy distraction from an Edinburgh Fringe performance he’s got coming up, but his main motive for the challenge has been to raise money for the Refugee Council, a charity providing support for those seeking asylum in the UK.

He’s walked 330 miles via 307 stations, made two trips to Heathrow (he forgot to pass terminal 5 on his first attempt), and has suffered from various ailments including a sprained ankle, shin splints, bleeding nipples and sunburn. That's no joke.

This Saturday, Ben will complete his final 23 miles between Knightsbridge and Cockfosters. You can show your support by donating to his fundraising page here.
