Putters at the ready, folks! In just five months you could be potting tiny balls into crrrazy holes right in the middle of Trafalgar Square. The London Design Festival has just launched a Kickstarter campaign that aims to plonk a Visionary Crazy Golf course in central London by September 16, which coincides with the festival.

Given that LDF is all about innovation, it's roped in some of the biggest names in architecture, art and design to conjure up the holes, including British fashion designer Paul Smith – who will also be curating the project – and the late, great architect Zaha Hadid. The colourful mock-up of the National Gallery steps above is Smith's proposal, while below you can see a sketch by furniture and lighting designer Tom Dixon.

Everyone who donates to the scheme (from £5 to £5,000) will receive rewards from the designers, which include some exclusive socks, scarves and other accessories designed by Paul Smith.

Check out the Kickstarter campaign to find out more.

Can't wait until September? Find alternative places around London to play crazy golf.
