If you thought cheese and wine was the ultimate food and drink combination, think again, because there's a new culinary pairing in town and it's heavy on the carbs. Fabulous baker brothers Tom and Henry Herbert are opening a pop-up beer bakery on Hackney Road in Hoxton today (October 27). They'll be getting boozy in the kitchen and using Stella Artois, Budweiser and Corona to make beer-flavoured bread with hop glazes and malted wheat crusts. And if you'd prefer to drink your beer, they'll have plenty of the stuff in liquid form, too. Anyone for a slice of Stella sourdough?

The Beer Bakery is at 186 Hackney Road, E2 7QL. October 27-31, noon-8pm. Free.
