A pop-up crisp sandwich café is coming to London this week

Forget 1920s speakeasy pop-up experiences, Walkers knows what the people really want: crisp sarnies. With that in mind, the crisp brand is launching a speakeasy-style crisp sarnie club, and where better to host this members-only crisp-munching dinner party than tucked away behind a movable crisp shelf in the back of a newsagent?

On arrival you'll be greeted by 'Mr Crisp' (who else?), who'll take you to the sandwich-building station, but not before you've uttered the secret password, 'I'm barmy for sarnies'. And this isn't your standard ready salted and white bread combo, the creative whizzes at Walkers have come up with new flavours to complement your sliced loaf, including cheese toastie and Worcester sauce, sausage and brown sauce, ham and mustard, roast chicken and mayonnaise, and cheese, cucumber and salad cream. Yeah, we're not convinced on that last one, either.

There will also be 'sarnie-themed antics, sights and sounds' – we're imagining some sort of sandwich-eating competition to a soundtrack of rustling crisp packets, but your guess is as good as ours.

The Crisp Sarnie Club is located behind Chris Peter’s News at 112/114 Tooley Street, London Bridge. The club is open on Thurdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Sep 8. Each day there are 240 bookable seats in advance and up to 60 walk-in seats available. Tickets are £3.50 and can be booked online.
