It's finally here! Tonight marks the opening of the night tube. About bloody time. To celebrate – and so you can make use of the cash you'll save on late-night Ubers – here are the best events themed around the Underground's new extended opening hours.

A cultural all-nighter at Libreria bookshop

Bookshop Libreria has a jam-packed schedule of events for the first night of the new tube opening hours, running all the way from 8pm to 8am. And best of all, they're all free! Enjoy live music from Andy Button and his band, do a spot of whiskey tasting, watch a screening of Martin Scorsese's classic film 'After Hours’, and if you can stick it out until 6am, there's bagels and poetry. Though hang on – by then the regular tube will already be running again...

Nearest night tube station: Liverpool Street

Late Night Pita Stop at The Real Greek

Real Greek

To keep you fuelled up for your all-night partying, The Real Greek in Covent Garden is staying open until midnight on Friday to dish out its special Late Night Pita Stop. Choose from beef and pork sausage, pork belly, chicken, lamb kofte, halloumi or falafel flatbreads. They'll also throw in thick-cut chips and a pint of beer. And it'll only set you back £7.50. Take that, hunger!

Nearest night tube station: Holborn

Half price food at MeatLiquor

If you get the munchies between 12 and 2am this Friday or Saturday then you're in luck because patty purveyors MeatLiquor are selling all food for half price. The perfect place for post-party nosh.

Nearest night tube station: Bond Street.

Tube-themed fun at Cahoots

Cahoots cocktail

It would have been a crime for Underground-themed bar Cahoots not to host a special night tube party and they've surpassed themselves with their limited-edition cocktail menu and 3am opening hours. The three new tipples include the very British rum-based 'Tea? Effin' 'Ell.' Cheers!

Nearest night tube station: Oxford Circus

Victoria Line Martinis at Sartoria

Sartoria

Also serving up a tube-themed tipple is modern Italian Sartoria. Their homage to the Victoria line in a cocktail is a bright blue blend of The London No1 gin, Tio Pepe and bitter orange.

Nearest night tube station: Oxford Circus

Tapas and creative cocktails at Ember Yard

Ember Yard

Soho's Ember Yard is extending its opening hours until midnight so punters can enjoy its popular tapas and creative cocktails 'til late.

Nearest night tube station: Oxford Circus.
