Camden Town station might be getting a new entrance

Camden Town station could finally be getting a shiny new makeover – and seeing as it's been standing for over 100 years, it's about time, too. Camden-dwellers will be pleased to know that TfL has unveiled plans for a new second entrance and exit, which would hopefully prevent the station from having to constantly close during busy periods. The upgrade also includes plans for three new escalators, two new lifts to provide step-free access, as well as more space to change between trains. If it gets the green light, the work wouldn't start until 2019 and could go on until 2023-24, so we've still got a few more years before the station becomes a little less hellish. There's a public consultation open until December 11, so if you regularly use the station or just feel particularly passionate about the revamp, you can have your say on the TfL website.
