Oenophiles rejoice! Spanish wine brand, Campo Viejo, is bringing the ultimate vino fiesta to the capital. Following their colourful floating bar in Clapham last year, the wine gurus are back with another five-day-long celebration of Spanish food, drink and culture, as ‘Fiesta de Color’ takes over Waterloo Millennium Green.

Yep, get ready to swap the Big Smoke for sunny España by taking a relaxing seat at their pop-up balcony wine bar, complete with sun-streaked panoramas of the city and an Instagrammable ceiling woven from coloured ribbons. You’ll be able to sit back and relax as a 10ft robot wine server, The Tropism Well, pours out a perfect tipple for you whenever it senses that your glass is empty.

And you can forget quaffing, spitting and decanting. This year, Campo Viejo are turning the tables on traditional wine tasting in favour of a one-of-a-kind Mediterranean sensory overload. ‘Dare to Pair’, Campo Viejo's experimental food and wine pairing session, will explore how we use all five of our senses - not just taste - to pair wines with different and sometimes unexpected dishes. The masterclasses four-course tasting menu will see glasses of bubbly cava and silky bianco, all paired with mouthwatering tapas and pintxos street food from Pop Brixton’s Donostia. The sensory snacks include a Campo Viejo Tempranillo 2015 served chilled with octopus, heritage tomato and smoked paprika as well as vibrant beetroot and goats cheese croquettes with Campo Viejo Garnacha 2015.

Plus, wine blending will get a scientific makeover as visitors have the chance to don a lab coat and use beakers and test tubes to experiment with different grape varieties, test their tastebuds and craft their own bespoke bottle of wine. There’s also a chance to win a range of competition prizes throughout the fiesta, including trips to the stunning Campo Viejo winery in Rioja, Spain.

So grab a group of your best pals and while away a sunny summer day with a glass of wine in hand at this marvellous Mediterranean extravaganza for an unbeatable sensory Spanish experience.

Fiesta de Color is free and open to the public from Wed Jun 14 to Sun Jun 18 at Millennium Waterloo Gardens, Baylis Rd, SE1 7AA. Tube: Waterloo.
