You can now satisfy your cartographic curiosities while getting your caffeine fix as Stanfords, the map and travel book shop in Covent Garden, has a shiny new café. Appropriately decked out, the new spot serves locally roasted coffee and features globes and framed historic reproduction maps from the Edward Stanford Cartographic Collection archive.

The store has been around for well over a century, and has seen its fair share of famous customers throughout its history, including Ernest Shackleton and Florence Nightingale. So whether you are loving London or planning your escape, this map porn mecca is the place to ponder it all. And don’t leave without checking out the floors. The ground floor is covered with a map of the world, while you can find a map of the Himalayas on the first floor and a giant A-Z map of central London in the basement.

Stanfords Coffee House 12-14 Long Acre, Covent Garden, WC2E 9LP.
