Have you got a great business idea? Been planning the launch of London's first rollerskating hairdresser, virtual-reality ice-cream parlour, or cereal café? (Actually, scrap the last one - that would just be ridiculous.) If you lived in Liverpool, you could make your fantasy a reality, thanks to its cool new pound-shop scheme. No, not that kind of pound shop; these are shops that cost just one pound a week to lease and which are being offered up by the council as a way to generate new business in Liverpool's Picton neighbourhood. Anyone can pitch for one of the premises and then just sit back and watch as their entrepreneurial dreams unfold. Oh, and there might be a bit of work involved, too - but we can safely say that running a business isn't that hard. Trust us, we've seen 'The Apprentice': it's a piece of cake.
