Cider gets a bit of a bad rep for being a sickly sweet alternative for those who can't handle their beer. But in a bit of a curveball move, the craft beer enthusiasts at Crate Brewery have teamed up with Dan from The Cider Box and Kentish cider-maker Sam Nightingale of Gibbet Oak Cider to host their first ever Cider Fest on July 12. Once you've made your way through the 30 different ciders on offer, soak up all that scrumpy with some pulled pork, a cider-themed deli tasting board, or have a free tutored cheese tasting. If you're still standing after all that food and booze, get up and move to some deep south Americana blues, folk and country tunes.

From midday, July 12, The White Building, Queen’s Yard, E9 5EN. Free entry.

Take a look at London's best cider pubs.
