There's no better cure for stress than stroking a lovely, fluffy dog, right? Except maybe cake. So if you've had a tough week you're in luck, as this Friday (April 8) Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is hosting a tea party.

Staff will be on hand with free confectionery and their waggiest-tailed pooches for a meet and greet between noon and 2pm at Spitalfields, Devonshire Square and Sheldon Square.

You can also volunteer to host a tea party of your own. Simply register at battersea.org.uk/teaparty and you'll be sent a party pack so you can invite your pals and their pooches to enjoy some of your best bakes and raise money and awareness for the rehoming charity.

Love pooches? These are our ten top London dogs.

And here are the cutest pet dogs in London.
