This Sunday, Dishoom is throwing a big free party in celebration of Eid al-Fitr, in the square opposite its King's Cross branch. There'll be street food stalls from the likes of Oli Baba’s, Bun Kebab and Only Jerkin’ and Indian soft drinks to sip on from Thums Up and Limca. Once bellies are full, visitors can get stuck into the activities on offer. A calligrapher will be penning names in Arabic script, henna artists will be painting hands with intricate designs, and lucky dip gifts will be dished out to little ones.

The event is open or all faiths and backgrounds and runs from noon-4pm. Please note that no alcohol will be available on site.

Lewis Cubitt Square, N1C 4UZ. Sun Jul 17. Free entry.

There’s also a mass Kate Bush danceathon in London this weekend
