Oxford Street is usually best avoided like the plague on a weekend, but if there's any reason worth wrestling the crowds for its free money, oh and the chance to see a life-sized Monopoly board and Mr Monopoly himself. And you could bear witness to just that and receive a £200 voucher if you're one of the first 50 people to pass go at the opening of the NSPCC Oxford Street First Family Festival on Sunday November 6.

All's not lost if you're not one of first 50 people there, though. You can still try your luck with a game on the giant board. And if you bring the kids, they can join in with balloon making, craft workshops, activities on a My Little Pony bus, a Transformers truck and an interactive grotto.

You can also join in the festivities and help a good cause by donating to the NSPCC's Little Stars campaign. For a fiver, you can dedicate a Christmas light on Oxford Street to one of your loved ones. Find out more at nspcc.org.uk/littlestars.

Oh, and Craig David will be flicking the switch on the Oxford Street Christmas lights.

Feeling festive? Here are the switch-on dates for London's best Christmas light displays.
