Dog holidays are a thing now – and we sent a puppy to try one in London

Do you spoil your pooch? You’re not alone – the UK pet market was projected to surpass £4.5 billion this year. That’s a LOT of dog snoods. Apparently, people just can’t get enough of showing their hairy friends the good life. But has one London company gone too far? PetsPyjamas, based in east London, arranges holidays that, rather than being just dog-friendly, are pretty much actual holidays for dogs. Time Out writer Ellen Hardy took her mutt, Selkie, to try out a ‘Doggy De-Stress’ package at the posh Belgraves Hotel. During her stay, Selkie was treated to a luxury hotel suite, artisanal treats made from ‘ethically sourced ingredients’, and even dog reiki. Barking mad, or just a reflection of a dog’s right to some R&R (or, rather, R& arf)? See how our pampered pup got on here.

Want more animal fun? Tickets for London Zoo's safari camp are now on sale.
