Discorobics at Brixton Beach Boulevard

Here's another disco-inspired fitness class that should put a little boogie in those burpees. Throw some shapes at Discorobics, happening every Saturday morning in August at Brixton Beach Boulevard. There will be plenty of top tunes from back in the day to spur you on like a proper disco inferno. Brace yourself: this one's gonna burn.

Dates: August 6, 13 and 20

Cost: £10

Floatfit at the Haymarket Hotel

If banging out a HIIT class on solid ground doesn’t quite do it for you, how about trying it on water? The Haymarket Hotel has teamed up with floaty fitness experts Aquaphysical for a month-long series of Floatfit workouts, which involves a sleek pool, a giant, buoyant exercise board and – if you’re iffy about swimming – a whole lot of nerve. But word is it’s fairly safe, and your plucky efforts will get you a slap-up brunch afterwards.

Dates: From August 6 for six weeks

Cost: £30 (including training session, water and brunch)

Centric: 3Tribes

Centric: 3Tribes

They say great things comes in threes, and judging from the rise in trendy three-space studios in town nowadays, we reckon the same could be said for fitness. Crouch End’s new Centric: 3Tribes gym is the latest triple threat, offering a 'Warrior' (HIIT bootcamp), 'Rider' (spin) or 'Zen' (yoga and barre) room to suit your mood and sort out all your fitness needs. They’ve got a juice bar too (swanky!) so locals can look forward to plenty of good fun from this new kid on the block.

Cost: £30 (three classes for newcomers) or £15 drop-in

Best's Bootcamp

Best’s Bootcamp

At first glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking this new indoor studio is a blatant rip-off of Barry’s Bootcamp. But samey name and slick branding aside, Best’s is keeping the competition on its toes with whizzy tech, bespoke equipment, resident DJs, brutal classes and seriously ripped instructors that’ll expect you to be your best (naturally).

Cost: £10 (first class)
