The party season is imminent, soon to be surrounded by festive jumpers, the dulcet tones of Mariah Carey and the smell of mulled wine. So if you’re in need of a space for a Christmas party, some much-needed work drinks or even a birthday, the venue experts at Hire Space are here to give you some inspiration. Dust off those sequinned outfits and get ready for some fun-filled months ahead.

Wonderlab at the Science Museum

Unique is a word that’s thrown around a lot but this venue really does deserve the accolade. The Science Museum’s newest gallery, Wonderlab: The Statoil Gallery is now available for corporate event hire. The £6 million gallery is the Science Museum’s most ambitious interactive gallery yet and will feature over 50 exhibits in seven zones based on the scientific phenomena that surround us every day.

The 1,600sqm space can accommodate up to 400 guests for evening receptions and dancing. Guests will have the opportunity to take the ultimate selfie in the infinity mirror, order experiments at the ‘Chemistry Bar’, watch a real-life lightning strike and dance the night away on a revolving solar system under a canopy of 500 stars.

Bombay Palace

Bombay Palace is an award-winning Indian restaurant in the heart of London offering a delicious selection of dishes from Northern India as well as a selection of tasty and wholesome Indian street food. The restaurant has a plethora of options for events, from several private dining rooms to the lounge bar and patio. Separated from the main restaurant by a glass partition, the space has its own cocktail bar making it ideal for a private party that allows for exclusivity whilst still being able to enjoy the vibe of the restaurant.

For those special occasions that include 80-180 of your closest friends, the restaurant can be hired exclusively with dinner as the main event. Start in the lounge and patio for canapes and drinks before moving into the the dining room for the main course and dessert.

Cinnamon Soho

Founded by award-winning chef Vivek Singh, Cinnamon Soho has now officially opened following a stylish redesign. Focusing on a casual approach to modern Indian dining, Cinnamon Soho offers an alternative drinking and dining venue in the heart of Carnaby Street. The restaurant has been transformed into an urban dining spot with vibrant nods to India, featuring colourful hand-painted walls and Indian vendor carts. Midcentury-style bar stools and vintage mismatched chairs add a laid-back vibe where you can kick back and relax. The downstairs dining room can be hired for up to 35 guests for private or Christmas parties for a sit-down dinner on the banquet-style table or for 50 people for cocktails and canapes. It’s chic, contemporary and in a fantastic central location.

The Square Pig

The Square Pig is a bit of a hybrid, combining a cosy British pub with a stylish cocktail bar. The upstairs is a bright airy space, with huge windows letting in tons of natural daylight. Repurposed wood tables surrounded by tartan-topped seating, alongside racing green leather banquettes make you think of cosy afternoons in the countryside. For the slightly warmer months, the venue also boasts a decked outside area – a bit of a rarity in the middle of Holborn.

If you then follow the illuminated steps downwards you’ll discover a hidden speakeasy bar filled with herb-infused gin decanters and hanging martini glasses. Teal, black and dark brown leather booths, accented with plush mustard cushions create a decadent yet modern space. Both spaces are suitable for private hire with a number of different packages available for parties, weddings or just a few after-work drinks, from canapes and cocktails to sit-down meals.

The Beast of Brixton

Brixton isn’t short of bars, but this new venue right between Brixton and Clapham North is worth a visit. As well as custom cocktails and new street food every week, they also do a mean frozen margarita and small-plate menu (try the avocado tempura wedges).

The top floor at Beast of Brixton is the perfect intimate space for a gathering and is available to reserve for larger groups. You can bring your own tunes, too. As the website says, 'Somewhere in Brixton there’s a door. Behind the door there’s a staircase. Upstairs there’s a party, and the party is yours'.
