Move over, Garden Bridge, there’s a new leafy oasis coming to town – one that looks like it will actually happen. This month, the jetty at Greenwich Peninsula is being transformed into a floating garden called Farmopolis, and we’re not talking about any old shrubbery.

In what the organisers are calling The Great Plant Rescue, the garden is to be decked out with thousands of plants from the Chelsea Flower Show that have been salvaged and rehomed to create a green waterside haven. But it’s also way more than just a bunch of flowers: the space will be used to host supperclubs, literary events, theatre shows, creative workshops and live music.

It opens on July 30, but you can get tickets right now. Book yours and cross your fingers that your visit will coincide with some sun. But hey, if it does rain, at least the plants will be happy.
