Don’t stay in – go out and stay out all night. Here’s your essential party schedule for the weekend ahead.

Vesuvio

Jump start the weekend with this new Friday night at The Social, one of Time Out’s faves and a perennial go-to for partying in central London. At Vesuvio, the upstairs bar focuses on reggae, funk and disco, while for five shiny pounds, it’s bashment in the basement. Bounce from dancefloor to booth downstairs as resident DJs downstairs play hip hop, dancehall and house. The Social. Fri Jul 15.

Brixton Beach Boulevard

A big, bold new summer pop-up hits Brixton for 14 weekends of daytime parties on a rooftop beach. Miami circa 1982 is the inspiration and cocktails, DJs, retro film screenings, food stalls and live sports broadcasts are all on the cards, so slick back that hair, pull on a white tuxedo and hope for some suitably tropical weather. Valentia Place. Fri Jul 15.

Disco 54 Summer Daze

DJ ‘Glitterball’ Geoff Leonard will be transporting the intoxicating sexy glamour of NYC disco mecca Studio 54 to Bethnal Green with the help of DJs, live performers, lights, lasers, sequins and pure, shiny disco heat. Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club. Sat Jul 16.

How Does It Feel To Be Loved with Kevin Rowland

This northern soul and indie pop institution welcomes Kevin Rowland – leader of Dexy’s – back for the fourth time to grace the Phoenix with a DJ set and, as often happens when Rowland DJs, a mass singalong too, fingers crossed. The set list may talk heartbreak, but most woes can be healed with a healthy dose of jangly guitars and soulful pop. The Phoenix. Sat Jul 16.
