How much d’you think a Big Mac costs these days? Brace yourself: £2.69. Outrageous, right? Factor in the obligatory large fries, an extra cheeseburger on the side and a chocolate milkshake and you've got a knackered wallet to match your knackered arteries.

However, head over to Mac & Wild in Fitzrovia this week and you can bag a gourmet tribute to the famous double-decker beef-treat for just one of your English quids.

Fifty ‘Big Mac & Wild’ burgers will be available at the knock-down price of £1 every lunchtime this week (first come, first served, naturally), after which time the spesh-edition sandwich will revert to the slightly-less-bargainous price of £12 for the rest of the summer. That's providing Maccy D’s lawyers don’t kick off in the meantime, of course.
