A safari camp in Zone 1? You better believe it. London Zoo got the green light for its overnight safari camp back in September and it officially opens in May 2016, but the first batch of tickets go on sale today. The Gir Lion Lodge, (which is located adjacent to the lion enclosure, if you're wondering) will be made up of nine private cabins, which each have space for up to two adults and two children. Your ticket includes dinner, breakfast, an after-hours tour in the evening and an early morning tour to spot any creatures that had already bedded down the night before.

But if you thought a day-trip to the zoo was pricey then you might want to give this one a miss as tickets start from £378 per couple – so it's definitely best reserved for only the most dedicated animal-enthusiasts. The safari experience will be open six nights a week from May to December in 2016, but tickets are on sale right now – get ready to snap 'em up.
