The Garden Museum launched a farewell-for-now exhibition today with one of the best puns we've heard in horticulture – Gnome & Away: Secrets of the Collection. This temporary display, which contains 100 of the museum's 6,000-strong collection of artefacts, is the last before the place closes for refurbishment in November until early 2017.

Located in a Victorian church in Lambeth, the Garden Museum maintains a unique collection of objects that span 400 years of gardening in Britain. From grand country grounds to modest back yards, all types of gardens are represented through an array of tools, paintings, scrapbooks, ornaments and much more. Visitors will find all the pieces by rummaging through boxes and drawers, and rest assured, there will be gnomes aplenty.
