The weekend is in sight and it’s time to start planning some fun. Here are our top party picks this week…

Number 90 Birthday Weekender

Nestled up to the canal in Hackney Wick sits Number 90 Bar & Kitchen – a mix of gig space, dancefloor, bar and restaurant – which celebrates its two-year stint with DJ sets from the staff from two of London’s great record shops – Rough Trade and Phonica.

Number 90 Bar & Kitchen. Thursday-Sunday.

Yo! Sissy

Berlin meets London at this night of community minded fun at two-floored LGBT boozer, The Glory. Yo! Sissy is a queer international music festival that’s run in Berlin since 2014. Now they’re spreading their wings and dropping a night of drag performances, live noirish hip hop from Laura Clock plus Le Tigre’s JD Samson on the decks.

The Glory. Saturday.

Craig David

Craig David Party

Another man being celebrated in party form this week is Craig Ashley David, who in barely a year has turned himself back from national punchline to national treasure. Such is the demand for this celebration of Craig’s boinks that it’s now spread across two venues near Old Street.

The Macbeth and Far Rockaway. Friday.

The South London Soul Train – Motown Special

If ‘Motown the Musical’ has piqued your interest in Berry Gordy’s sprawling, pivotal label, then let your appreciation be visible at this four-floored funk-fest at the hardy Peckham institution.

The Bussey Building. Saturday.

The South London Soul Train

Garage and Grime Karaoke

Whether you're a wannabe MC or simply appreciate a good flow, Fatz Official and King $mallz have tailored the perfect night for you. Sing along or spit bars to the likes of Wiley, Shola Ama, Craig David and loads more. Make sure you get there early to submit your request by the 7.30pm deadline.

Surya. Sunday.

Dedicated to Kanye

Nobody loves Kanye like Kanye loves Kanye. Fact. But this Kanye-loving Kanye night still has a lot
of what you might call ‘Kanye cachet’. It’s the perfect place to take your Kanye-loving compadre to sashay to Kanye. In short: wahey! Wahey for Kanye!

Notting Hill Arts Club. Monday.
