Is Netflix's new thriller ‘The OA’ the new ‘Stranger Things’?

Netflix has just released the trailer for its new mystery drama ‘The OA’, which arrives on Friday. The streaming giant has been keeping schtum about the eight-episode show. Now we finally know that 'The OA' is about a woman in her twenties, Prairie Johnson (Brit Marling), who stumbles back into her home town seven years after disappearing. Where has she been? Who took her? The FBI and Prairie’s parents want to know, but she’s not talking. The biggest mystery of all is that when she left as a teenager Prairie was blind. Now she can see.

The show’s creators are indie duo Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, who are best known for the smart, arthouse sci-fi movies ‘Sound of My Voice’, ‘The East’. Tune in to 'The OA' Instagram feed for more clues.
