Liberty's beauty hall just got bigger and brighter

Lovely Liberty, the grand dame of all department stores, has had the builders in and extended its beauty offering. Last September when the team was having a bit of an excavation, they unearthed beautiful, large windows, hidden behind a wall at the back of the shop. This new patch of Liberty land is now home to Blink Bar, so customers can get their brows in shape while they shop.

Already awash with the the poshest of products to smear all over your face, the new and improved space also boasts the following brilliant beauty brands:

Heliotropia

Liberty simply cannot be expected to stock the same perfumes as everyone else, it is far too fancy for that. Happily premium perfumers Byredo have stepped up and created a scent exclusive to and inspired by the swish store. Because the store is crafted from the wood of two navel ships, Heliotropia, which launched this week, has woody base notes. It also smells floral, fresh and a bit of incense, but not in a teenage-bedroom way.

Votary: Super Seed

Votary face oils are awesome – pricey, yeah, they're also incredibly effective. The cleansing oils removes even the stubbornest of mascaras and will leave you panda-face free. The new Super Seed range sees a list of ingredients you would expect to scoff at breakfast time – chia, green tea, raspberry, blueberry and pomegranate – with things that you definitely wouldn't want in your porridge, like broccoli.

Biologique Recherche

The cult French skincare brand has hopped across the channel and decided to set up home in Liberty. In addition to the swanky-medical-looking-supplies, therapists from the brand will be performing treatments in the beauty room up on the third floor.
