We've only just had bonfire night but if you can't get enough of pyrotechnics and want to see in the New Year with fireworks too, you'll need to start planning now. Last year, London's New Year's Eve fireworks display was ticketed for the first time and it's the same deal again this year. The first batch of tickets went on sale last month and tickets for Westminster Bridge, Southbank, and the Victoria Embankment have already sold out. But if you missed out, you've got another chance because the Mayor's office has just announced a new viewing platform on Waterloo Bridge, with 13,000 more tickets going on sale today. Tickets are £10 and you can buy up to four per person - but they will sell out faster than you can say 'auld lang syne' so be prepared for a manic frenzy of frantic clicking and page-refreshing around lunchtime.

Book tickets from midday on November 12. £10.
