If you thought living further out than Zone 3 was a no-no, think again. Sure, living on the outskirts means a longer commute and fewer nightlife options, but according to new research by financial advisors Willis Towers Watson, folks living in London's suburbs have the best life expectancy in the whole country.

Out of the top ten areas with the highest life expectancy after retirement, nine were commuter towns on the outskirts of London, with Kingston-upon-Thames topping the list. Bromley and Harrow, both in Zone 5, also feature in the top ten.
