If you're planning to pop to Westfield for some post-work retail therapy, you might want to opt for the Stratford branch because police have reportedly found an unexploded World War Two bomb near the Shepherd's Bush one. According to the Evening Standard, shoppers were evacuated earlier today while the police cordoned off the area and investigated the bomb. The police have since said the incident has been 'resolved' but if you're in the area, expect lots of delays on the roads. What with this and the impending tube strike, it's not exactly a great day for travelling around London.
Here's how Twitter reacted:
Some people were slightly confused as to how the people who recently built the shopping centre hadn't noticed the bomb:
How does someone just stumble across a WW2 bomb- at a place that has been built recently?! #Westfield
