Ryan Gosling's journey to the 2017 Oscars continues tonight when his new movie 'La La Land' arrives at the Odeon Leicester Square for its European premiere at the London Film Festival.

That means that a lucky few London film fans will get to see the Gos singing and dancing his way across one of the biggest cinema screens in the city. We're struggling to think of a better way to spend a Friday night.

In 'La La Land', Gosling plays Sebastian, a jazz pianist who falls hard for a struggling actress, Mia, played by Emma Stone. We follow Sebastian and Mia through four seasons in Los Angeles, as the pair hook up and do their best to stay together while following their individual dreams. It's romantic, it's funny, it's sad and it's probably going to win Best Picture at the Oscars next February (you heard it here first).

It's an imaginative, sweeping musical, and both Gosling and Stone show off their singing and dancing skills. Prepare to swoon as they tap-dance on a LA street at night or suddenly float up to waltz among the stars. It's heady and creative, and director Damien Chazelle, who made 2014's Oscar-winning 'Whiplash', has done a great job of turning modern Los Angeles into a city of dreams.

Now all we need is for Gosling to make a sequel set in London and we can die happy.

'La La Land' opens in UK cinemas on Friday January 13 2017.
